Germany ranks as the fifth-largest source market, demonstrating the enduring appeal of the Maldives among German travelers. This market forms a crucial part of the broader trend, where the top ten source markets account for 64.8 percent of the total tourist arrivals. China leads the list with 211,900 arrivals, followed by Russia (157,600), the UK (123,600), and Italy (105,000). Other key markets include India (87,700), the US (49,100), France (40,500), Spain (32,800), and Switzerland (26,800).
On average, the Maldives welcomes 5,471 tourists daily, reflecting the country's ongoing appeal as a premier travel destination. To accommodate this influx, the Maldives boasts 1,227 operational facilities, including 174 resorts, 887 guesthouses, 152 safari vessels, and 14 hotels. With Germany among the top five source markets, the Maldives continues to solidify its position as a favorite destination for European travelers, particularly Germans seeking tropical luxury and unique island experiences.
