India has replaced Italy to become the second strongest market to the Maldives in terms of tourist arrivals, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
In their most recent tourist arrival update, the ministry confirmed total arrivals from India as of January 25 reached 14,350.
Arrivals from Italy by the same period stood at 13,848. As of the review date, Russia is leading with 19,389 arrivals which is a market share of 14 percent.

China has entered the top 10 source market list for the first time since 2019 and is currently ranked eighth.

South Korea has replaced Switzerland to become the 10th strongest market with 2,573 arrivals so far. Statistics also confirm a total of 138,593 arrivals as of January 25, which is a 29.7 percent increase from the same period in 2022. The total arrivals for the same period in 2022 reached 106,826 and 73,501 in 2021.
